Customer Review: Cool gadget. But only a gadget.
I bought this Riseman, I enjoy it and I'm going to keep it. Most of all, it's a G-Shock, so I know that I can swim in the ocean or ski in cold weather and nothing will happen to the watch or the waistband. Just don't try to throw it from the third floor. My previous G-Shock did not survive it ( You could do this with G-Shocks from the 80's, but not now). Ok, this is the upside. On the downside, if you think rationally, you don't really need the pack features this watch has. Solar battery that lasts forever and works up to 5 months without recharge? Awesome, but a regular battery will serve 5-10 years and the chances are high that you will replace the watch before this. And instead of just wearing your watch you now have to take care that it is exposed to daylight and your sleeves do not cover the solar panel. Atomic radio sync? Great! I have recently spent an hour on the street on a cold night trying to acquire the synchronization signal manually. It didn't work in my apt. I live in NYC, most likely this is the problem. Probably the sync will work alright in less populated area. But again, with a regular watch you spend 30 seconds every 3-6 months to adjust the time. This takes nearly as much effort as to put your Riseman facing the window overnight (required to get the sync according to the manual) Thermometer? The watch should be off your hand for about 20 minutes if you want to get a realistic reading. If you are hiking and suddenly want to check the temp, you will get a mix or outside temperature and the temperature of your body unless your take the watch off and wait for it to cool down. Altimeter? Works nicely. But if you have a GPS navigator like Nuvi, you already have a better altimeter that does not need to be recalibrated when atmospheric pressure changes. The bottom line is that Riseman is a very cool gadget. It looks great, it feels great on your hand and it has an awesome set of features. I am honest to myself that I don't need most of them. So if you are a very practical person give it a miss. If you just want a cool gadget - buy it, that's all I can say. P.S. world time is very convenient; compared to Pathfinder, there is no compass
Customer Review: Perfect Military Watch
My brother is in the Marine Corps and when I saw his old watch I realized he needed something tough. His old watch had fallen apart due to physical beatings (the face was cracked) exposed to the elements (at the time he was stationed in Arizona)and the band was cracking. I did research and came across the G-Shock. I read reviews for different models all over the internet and saw a lot of military personnel (both active and retired) give this watch rave reviews. It had the perfect amount of features (not too much, not too little) and wasn't flashy and followed his dress code for when he wears his Dress Blues and is lighter than it looks. My brother got it for Xmas 08 and he has no complaints whatsoever. This watch has been subjected to the same abuse as the other (even more now that he is stationed in Afghanistan)and still looks new. The other guys on his base even liked it and went out and bought their own. My brother says I found the perfect watch and I highly recommend it to others in the military.

Customer Review: Basic Atomic/Solar Watch at a great price
This is a great entry-level atomic/solar watch that is made to withstand a lot of punishment. The watch is pretty self-sufficient once set correctly it will update itself nightly. Wonderfully priced and it shipped from Amazon immediately. Things to consider...1)the hands are a bit small and take some getting use to but should not be a deterrent. 2)The back light is just that...a back light. Its a nice blue color that highlights the dial allowing you to view the contrasting hands. It does not illuminate the digital displays. 3)You have to set your home time, then the hands for the watch to function correctly. The manual makes it sound like you simply set the digital portion and boom, but this is not the case. You set the home time, advance the hands to match the home time...then boom. Once set...your done. The atomic time will update everything, even the hands during DST! 4)Its big which is good and bad. Good that it looks big and tough, but bad when you try to button a shirt or wear a sweater. I don't mind, but someone may. The instruction say that you have to keep it near a window every night to receive a signal, but I've worn the watch to bed under a pillow and it still found the Ft. Collins tower. Oh yea..5)It only receives one signal from Ft. Collins, Co. You really don't need the other towers/signals unless you're an international man of mystery and hopping the globe. I'd recommend this watch for someone geared towards the Analog look while wanting some digital functions and durability. Cheers,
Customer Review: Excellent Lifetime Watch.
This is the best product I have purchased yet at Amazon. Am very happy with the watch. Read all the reviews from other users and decided to buy it last week. Can't tell you how much I am loving it already. Shipping was on time and the watch is par excellence!! You can't beat the price on Amazon. You will never need to buy another watch again nor worry about changing the time or changing the battery + 2 year warranty.. al for under $60. Believe me this is really the "gift that keeps on giving"!!!!

Customer Review: Good Watch!
I purchased this watch in February after extensive research and reading of reviews, and have worn it every day since. Overall, I am very pleased. I don't use all the features (e.g., altimeter), but it's nice to have the option and extra gadgets. Casio - why not add in the moon phase feature while you're at it! My wife's a 4th grade teacher and said that the moon phase gadget would be a nice feature to have so that she could anticipate the full moon and be prepared for her kids to be a bit more unruly. Pros: Titanium band makes is acceptable to wear with a shirt and tie; compass is very accurate; having multiple alarms is great; being able to show two time zones on the same display is VERY useful. The barometer readings are fairly accurate, but obviously are effected when you're going outdoors to indoors. But if hiking or out with the dog for the day, it's a perfect feature. Cons: I tried removing a few links by myself and was unsuccessful. I have removed links on several watches before, but after many attempts at removing links on the PAW1300T-7V, I was afraid that I'd do permanant damage (to the watch and link-removing tool) so I took it to my local jeweler - 5min and $10 later, the watch fit like a glove. Also, the atomic sync feature doesn't always work. If I leave the watch on my night stand (next to the window) before I go to bed, it only receives a signal and syncs automatically about once a week. However, I've had better luck syncing manually when outdoors early on the morning.
Customer Review: This is the coolest watch ever!!!
I don't want to repeat what everyone else said before me. I am sure by the time you read this review, you are already familiar with how great this watch is. The one thing I would like to mention is that this watch has a LOT of functions and it is difficult to remember how every single function works. But if and when you get use to this watch, it is one of the best gadget ever built. Some things that other people might not have mentioned before is this watch has a tilt sensor so that you can view your watch in the dark by simply tilting your wrist toward you. My wife thought that was the coolest feature. Another interesting thing is that if you remove the back cover to change the battery, the watch would actually display a "cover is open" message. I thought that was cool. Lastly, I LOVE the titanium band. That really lightens up the watch. And the 24 hour barometric pressure trend plot is really cool. You are practically a walking weatherman if you have this watch. You would love this watch.
